High in the Eastern Sierra, this strawbale project serves as a mountain retreat for a family of climbers and skiers. The project includes an envelope of post and beam straw bale infill and roof structure made from wood reclaimed from a disassembled warehouse in Oakland, just over the mountains. The straw is sourced from rice farmers in northern California.
